The Theta Mu Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity incorporated supports the March of Dimes annual March for Babies program as part of the National Program of Alpha Phi Alpha. The program aims to raise funds to support research and programs that help improve the health of babies and mothers.
The program works in the following way:
- Goal Setting: The Theta Mu Lambda chapter sets a fundraising goal for the year to exceed the previous year’s total.
- Fundraising: The Theta Mu Lambda chapter members and their partners, families, and friends are encouraged to donate to the March for Babies program. The chapter utilizes various fundraising strategies, including social media outreach, email campaigns, and in-person events to raise funds,
- Progress Monitoring: The Theta Mu Lambda chapter’s progress toward our fundraising goal can be monitored online via the Transparent National Program. This allows members of the public to see the progress of the program and the contributions made by the Theta Mu Lambda chapter.
- Event Participation: The Theta Mu Lambda chapter participates in the annual March for Babies walk, which is typically held in April. Members of the chapter, along with their families and friends, join the walk to raise awareness about the cause and support the fundraising efforts.
- Results: At the end of the fundraising campaign, the Theta Mu Lambda chapter’s total amount raised is compared to their fundraising goal. In recent years, the chapter has exceeded its goal and been recognized as a top producer for the March for Babies program.
