Theta Mu Lambda Turkey Giveaway
Program Overview
The 288th House of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc
The Theta Mu Lambda Annual Turkey Giveaway Program is a community outreach initiative organized by the Theta Mu Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. This program is designed to assist families in need during the holiday season by distributing free turkeys to those who might otherwise go without them.
The program aims to serve as many families as possible in Dixmoor, Ford Heights, and University Park municipalities. Through partnerships with other community organizations, the program can raise funds and recruit volunteers to help make this goal a reality.
Despite encountering several obstacles along the way, including a shortage of turkeys and delivery issues, the program has continued to grow and expand year after year. In 2021, the program served nearly 500 families, approximately 2000 people, with the help of partnering organizations.
The Theta Mu Lambda Annual Turkey Giveaway Program is more than just a turkey distribution event; it is a community-building initiative that brings together volunteers and families in need, camaraderie, and generosity. By working together, we can positively impact our community and spread holiday cheer to those who need it most.
